AL2GETHER (AL2) is a community networking event established by Amber Mountain’s founder and director, Emma Ellis. Living in the village of London Colney, she realised there were many business owners on her doorstep that she had never met or even heard of. Emma was on a mission to change that!

And so, in 2018, AL2GETHER was born. Since then, our community has grown from a handful of standalone events to an active, growing business network of 26+ members, including a vibrant social media community. AL2GETHER also features regularly in the local parish council magazine!

During lockdown, AL2GETHER held online networking events that focused on supporting local businesses throughout the pandemic. We had a variety of speakers on a wide range of topics, from Marketing and Business Coaching, to IT, to a presentation on Neuro Linguistic Programming! These meetings offered much-needed support for struggling business owners, and provided motivation throughout a very challenging time.

From our very first event, AL2GETHER has led to successful business collaborations, with companies such as Oliver & Akers Estate Agents and Dream Team Movers finding synergy in their service offerings. It also boosted the profile of many businesses within our local community, such as Little Nightingales Childrens Nursery, GHPS (now the go-to for gas and heating services) and our popular pet groomers, Barkingham Palace. Paramount wines certainly helped everyone through lockdown too! The list is endless.

Our Facebook group has grown to over 400+ members and, now that face-to-face events are set to return, we expect to see a surge of new networkers very soon.

The success of AL2GETHER is evident not only in the amount of business being passed within the community, but through Emma’s recent award: Business in the Community in the London Colney Community Awards 2019.

“I definitely enjoy networking, even though talking to people I’ve never met doesn’t come easy for me! But I love that AL2gether is very local to London Colney and St Albans, seeing the same faces at most meetings is very nice and welcoming! It’s great to meet other like-minded people that understand what it’s like to run your own business, no matter how big or small. I’ve gained a lot of great customers and also found some great businesses that I probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise!”
